I’m so pleased to share Rachel and Dean’s beautiful winter wedding at Styal Lodge with you here. After getting engaged back in 2012, the couple took a very chilled out and relaxed approach to wedding planning. In fact it didn’t begin in earnest until 2016. Big fans of the winter weather and snowboarding, the couple definitely wanted a festive wedding day. Styal Lodge was the perfect venue for the couple.
Rachel told me all about their wedding planning…
“Christmas is our favorite time of year and we though that we could include a bit of a Christmassy feel in our wedding. Styal Lodge is so cosy and has a fantastic atmosphere perfect for a cold winter day and a dark evening do. Fairy lights and candles look perfect in there and our royal blue and pink colour scheme really works for this time of year. I also really like the idea of wearing a fur shrug!
I absolutely loved picking my wedding dress which was a surprise as I was not really looking forward to it, I hate trying clothes on and clothes shopping (unless it’s online). I think part of that was down to the brilliant bridal shops that I visited who really helped guide me through the different styles and accessories. The complementary prosecco might have helped as well!”
I joined Rachel and her bridesmaids in the morning for prep at Styal Lodge – the huge bridal prep room there is perfect! Dean and his groomsmen arrived shortly before the ceremony and the nerves were really kicking in.
Following the lovely ceremony guests were able to mingle and chat inside beautiful Styal Lodge whilst we pinched Rachel and Dean off for some pictures around the beautiful grounds of the Lodge.
Massive congratulations to Rachel and Dean – thank you for choosing me as part of your day.
Here’s a selection of some of my favourite images.
Thank you to Karl from Karl Chester Photography for assisting me on the day.
