What an absolute pleasure to be the wedding photographer at this lovely winter wedding at the Spread Eagle Hotel in Sawley. Not only because of the gorgeous Ribble Valley wedding venue but because we once again got to spend the day with the Frazer family. Last year it was the wedding of Dan and Claire at the Stirk House Hotel but this time around it was the turn of Caroline and Chris. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces. This wedding was the perfect example of how amazing a rainy wedding can be. Without doubt, the wettest day I’ve yet had to contend with but despite this the whole wedding party kept smiling and we got some great shots.
I joined the girls and chief bridesman Sean at Caroline’s family home. I admit to getting a bit choked up at seeing Caroline’s Dad in his full dress uniform ready to walk his little girl down the aisle. The bridesmaids looked absolutely amazing in outfits made by the bride’s mum.
After a lovely ceremony at the family church we headed off over the hills to the Spread Eagle. I just love Caroline and Chris’s colour choice of muted browns, oranges and bronze for the room decoration.
We stayed a little later than usual on promise of a surprise that had been arranged for the bride and groom. And man. What a surprise. Only flipping Gary Barlow. Ok, not really. But a very close look a like. At least one of the guests was momentarily convinced that the man himself had made an appearance!
Despite spending part of the day sopping wet this wedding turned out to be one of my favourites of the whole year – which just goes to show – it’s all about the people really. (and Gary Barlow, it’s partly about Gary Barlow)
Thank you Caroline and Chris for choosing us as your photographers. If any other family members are tying the knot – you know where to send them!
