A Stylish Winter Wedding at Samlesbury Hall

Helen and Sean’s winter wedding at Samlesbury Hall was the perfect way to kick off the 2017 wedding season. The couple had wanted a winter wedding and Samlesbury’s beautiful rooms and roaring fires make it the perfect choice for a winter wedding. Their aim for the day was to have a traditional, cosy and friendly wedding – and they certainly achieved that.

We were super lucky to have some beautiful crisp clear weather – perfect for a winter wedding. I joined the girls for bridal prep in the morning at Samlesbury’s lodge and my second photographer Stuart, headed over to the boys in a nearby hotel. The morning was so relaxed, with Helen having her hair and make up done surrounded by her parents and her bridesmaids with her stunning dress hanging in the room.

As the time of the ceremony came near we headed up to the Hall which was packed full of Helen and Sean’s friends and family waiting to see them tie the knot. One of my very favourite moments of any wedding day is when the couple lock eyes on each other for the first time. I love being on hand to capture that.

After the ceremony we headed out into the grounds and took advantage of the weather for some beautiful shots of the couple and their friends and family. At Samlebury you are spoilt for choice for beautiful backdrops and the winter sun made for perfect lighting. We even snuck inside for some gorgeous images in the old chapel.

After the meal the celebrations kicked into party mode with guests being entertained by a live band.

Huge congrats to Helen and Sean on your big day. We loved spending it with you. Here’s a selection of my favourite images from the day.
