Manchester Town Hall – An alternative wedding
When Stephie and Aidan first got in touch with me about their wedding at Manchester Town Hall, I was technically already fully booked. But about two lines into reading their email I was smitten! I just knew that I had to spend the day with these two and capture some beautiful images for them.
They are the NICEST couple you could wish to spend the day with. So I’m super excited about sharing some of their lovely images and the story of their wedding day.
“We met on the first day of uni, liked each other (in secret!) and finally got together at the end. We have been together for over nine years. We got engaged in 2016. It’s quite a story. Most things went wrong but it was absolutley perfect. Aidan took me on a surprise trip of activities. The first one was Chinese mask making. We arrived and didn’t understand why he tables were so small….. it was a class for kids! That plan was abandoned and we looked around a few shops as we waited to go to activity number two. All of this was a surprise as we went along. Aidan picked up and smashed a massive ceramic burger cookie jar, nerves obviously getting to him. Second was afternoon tea at the Lowry hotel.. amazing. I then fell over and ripped my tights. The third was a stay at the Midland hotel. As we were walking over there was a protest outside Selfridges about blood diamonds… I turned to Aidan and told him I wouldn’t want a diamond after hearing all that. Little did I know just hours later he would propose to me tucked up in bed after a lovely meal…with a diamond!”
Thankfully after the stressful proposal (poor Aidan!) wedding planning went a little bit smoother. Stephie and Aidan soon chose Manchester Town Hall for their big day – they loved the history and the grandeur of the building and the thought of all the stories it’s seen over the year – and there’s would become one of them. I’m a huge fan of the Town Hall too so it was a pleasure to be there one last time before it closed for refurbishments.
Before the big day we met up for an engagement shoot in the woods. It’s not an understatement to say that Stephie was feeling the nerves about being in front of the camera. And I wanted her to look at her images and realise what a hottie she is. So a practise run was just what was called for – and it worked a treat. When we headed off for portraits around the city centre, my second photographer Karl couldn’t believe how relaxed Stephie and Aidan were in front of the camera!
I’m so pleased that Stephie and Aidan got in touch with me and that I had the sense to book just one more wedding in for the already fully booked year. Every minute of their wedding day was an absolute pleasure and I’ve loved getting to know them a little bit over their wedding planning.
Super pleased to share some of their absolutely beautiful wedding images with you.
Much love Stephie and Aidan – thank you so much for choosing me to be a part of your wedding story.
Thank you to Karl from Karl Chester Photography for being my second shooter on the day and getting some beautiful shots.
