When Jade and Danny first met with me, they told me all about the winter wedding they were planning at the Alma Inn in Laneshawbridge. I love photographing weddings across Lancashire and it’s an extra treat to get to visit new wedding venues. Country pub weddings are one of my favourite things – I loved that relaxed and laid back feel. And Jade and Danny’s big day definitely did not disappoint. The couple knew the Alma Inn was the perfect choice for their winter wedding – cosy, intimate and rustic. The open fires and countryside location was just the icing on the cake. The couples choice of decor and table setting fitted the venue perfectly – all done by the talented Adam and Natalie at The Borrowers.
I met with the girls for bride prep in the morning and had a little swoon over Jade’s dress, those sparkly shoes and the bridesmaids’ shrugs. My second photographer Stuart headed off to the boys to join them for groom prep before travelling over to the Alma Inn. The boys suits were also perfect for the winter wedding feel.
The ceremony took place in the beautiful light filled room at the back of the pub – covered in twinkly fairly lights and rustic hessian – it was the perfect backdrop for a civil ceremony. After the ceremony as the guests enjoyed drinks and chats, we headed out into the cold to capture some images of the couple together.
As night turned into day, we headed out again for sparklers and fairylight pictures – one of the reasons I love winter weddings so much is that I get to be creative with some night time portraits.
