Angus and Veronica’s wedding was flipping BEAUTIFUL. So many details, so much style, pretty colours, a gorgeous couple, a lovely group of guests and two fantastic Manchester city centre wedding venues. The whole day was full of laughter, colour, beautiful design and dancing. For sure one of my favourite weddings of the year.
Veronica tells the story of their wedding planning:
“Angus and I met in July 2004. He was the lead singer of a band I went to watch. We had our first date in Manchester and spent quite a bit of time in the city in our first few months as a couple.” After a surprise proposal at the Victoria and Albert museum in 2015, the couple got stuck into wedding planning with gusto. Manchester Town Hall was an easy choice for their wedding ceremony – as Veronica quite rightly says – “If you are going to get married in Manchester there is no building more beautiful than Manchester Town Hall.” For the reception they wanted something a little bit unusual and so they chose the Whitworth Art Gallery and you’ll see from the images what an amazing wedding venue it makes.
Although they didn’t start out with a specific theme in mind, the pink colour scheme evolved from Veronica’s choice of wedding shoes (amazing by the way). Veronica’s super lovely and talented Mum handmade all the bridesmaid dresses and the wedding dress itself! Both families were a huge support to the couple throughout the planning process and it was extra special that Veronica’s brother came home from New Zealand and Angus’ brother Duncan from South Korea.
Thank you Veronica and Angus for choosing me as your wedding photographer – it was a pleasure! Here’s a selection of my favourites from your big day.
If you’re planning a wedding at The Whitworth Art Gallery – I’d love to hear from you!
