Ashton Memorial Wedding

It was a day of absolute glorious sunshine for Jason and Danielle’s wedding at the Ashton Memorial in Lancaster. I’ve visited the park lots of times and this gorgeous building can’t be missed. It sits high up, commanding a view over the whole park and off to the coast and the Lake District too.

Danielle and Jason had many reasons for choosing Lancaster for their big day. Not least because of the beautiful building in the park but because it was where they very first met back in 2009. Jason playing in a band and Danielle watching him. Their love survived a long distance relationship as Danielle attended university. Fast forward a few years and Jason planned a surprise proposal at one of the couples’ favourite spots – Williamson Park. As Danielle sat admiring the view, little did she know a nervous Jason was pulling a ring out of his pocket to pop the question. On a beautiful, sunshiny day, Danielle said yes to Jason – right next to the building where they would return to tie the knot a couple of years later!

After the ceremony in the beautiful round room in the memorial guests had chance to mingle in the sunshine sipping fizz and eating scones whilst I pinched the couple away for some pictures around the park. Then we all headed to Lancaster House Hotel where the rest of the celebrations happened. Danielle had put so much thought and effort into her stylist rustic themed wedding decorations. When she walked into the room and saw it complete for the first time she burst into tears! As well as learning calligraphy for all the place settings, Danielle had brought together all the styling and decorations to complete the look. Her Dad even made hand made all the wooden crates which were used as centre pieces.

To round off what was already a perfect day, we were treated to the most beautiful sunset over Lancaster.

Massive congratulation Jason and Danielle – it was an absolute pleasure to be involved in your big day.
