An Outdoor Wedding at Thornsett Fields Farm

Jenny and Jordan held a glorious humanist wedding in the sunshine at the stunning Thornsett Fields Farm. The couple, who currently live in Australia,  were keen to find a venue that would allow them to hire in their own vegan caterers, would fit all their friends and family and somewhere that would be super duper relaxed. Thornsett ticked all those boxes and more. For half of the year it’s a proper farm – lambing in the wedding shed and all! In the summer months the animals make way for wedding guests! (Apart from the resident sheep dogs who will happily play fetch with wedding guests all day long!) There’s even a camping field so your guests can stay over and the fun can continue.  

This wedding day was all of my favourite weddingy things. Jenny and Jordan wanted a really chilled out and non-traditional wedding and they ticked al the boxes. Instead of opting for a religious or civil ceremony on the day they chose a humanist celebrant for the wedding ceremony. This allowed them to get married outside the wedding barn in a scorching outdoor ceremony and personalise every aspect of their wedding ceremony. After the ceremony guests headed inside the barn for drinks and nibbles. The wedding barn at Thornsett Fields Farm is HUGE which means it’s perfect if you’re having big numbers but it’s also great if you need to shelter from the weather. On Jenny and Jordan’s wedding day it was so hot people were hiding from the sun! I don’t say that very often at weddings. 

In fact the sun was so strong that I made the decision to wait until evening to take Jenny and Jordan’s portraits. And I’m so glad I did. The early evening sun was absolutely beautiful – the stuff of a wedding photographer’s dream! Soft and dreamy and warm. We spent some time outside capturing some beautiful pictures before heading in for the party!
