wedding photography in the lakes - The villa at levens wedding photography
I seem to have been visiting the Lake District lots this year. You'll hear no complaints about that from me. It's a mere hop, skip and, ok an hours drive from where I'm based but it's a wedding photographer's dream. When I met Tom and Penny at their venue before the wedding date, they'd told me they'd taken a chance on booking it when it was still a building site! Thankfully their risk paid off and by the time of their wedding day, the Villa at Levens was looking very beautiful. Unfortunately the same could not be said about the weather. In typical Lake District fashion - there was a lot of it!
Tom and Penny did not let that ruin their fun. I joined the girls in the morning for prep in the beautiful and huge bridal suite. Good job it was sizeable as Penny had chosen five of her friends to act as bridesmaids and Tom had beaten that with his number of groomsmen! When everyone was ready we headed down the rather impressive staircase to where the ceremony was going to take place. After the ceremony and drinks reception in the main house, the guests headed down to the function suite for their wedding breakfast and speeches.
Thankfully in the evening we were treated to some beautiful golden hour sunlight and were able to take advantage of the surroundings at the Villa Levens for some pictures. Before we headed back to the reception venue where the band was ready to rock and roll. And rock and roll they certainly did. The dance floor was absolutely bouncing! We had so much fun.
Congratulations Tom and Penny! Thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your big day. Here's a selection of some of my favourite images.
