Massive congratulations to Dan and Vicky who GOT MARRIED at the beautiful Outbarn wedding venue in the Ribble Valley. It was literally the most perfect sun drenched, relaxed wedding day. Which isn’t surprising – Vicky and Dan knew from the outset that they wanted a wedding that really represented them. A relaxed affair with a focus on their family and friends having fun and enjoying the day with the two of them.

I joined Vicky and her bridesmaids at one of the cottages on site. I love the face the fact that you can get ready here at the Outbarn – saves all that unnecessary fuss on the wedding morning. Flowers delivered, hair and make up being done, and lots of prosecco flowing! I love the fact that Vicky and her bridesmaids donned their sunglasses and walked down the lane to the wedding venue where Dan was waiting (a little nervously).

DIY wedding details

You know I love a DIY wedding? This one had personal touches and handmade details in spades. Dan’s super-duper talented Mum made Vicky’s wedding dress – how amazing is it! She also turned her hands to the groomsmen’s ties too. Dan’s Aunties also chipped in with a handmade wedding cake. Lots of other things like the signs, decorations and the favours were handmade as well.

Vicky had this vision of a laid back day where guests would be enjoying the sunshine, sipping drinks, eating canapés and enjoying each others company. It was like she could see the future because that’s EXACTLY wha the day was like. After the ceremony, guests headed outside to soak up the sunshine with the glorious Ribble Valley countryside as a backdrop. After the meal we snuck Vicky and Dan away for some gorgeous sunset pictures before joining them on the dance floor.

Thank you to the team at the Outbarn for looking after us so well and the lovely Sarah from Sarah Maria Photography for being my second photographer on the day.

“My Husband and would like to say a huge thank you to Rachel for not only providing us with beautiful photos of our wedding but for also being a valuable part of our wedding team!  Rachel was able to capture some wonderfully intimate moments during our wedding and I believe she managed to get a photo of every single guest, which we really appreciated!

The thing you might not know about Rachel is how indispensable she is to have on your big day, with Rachel we didn’t just get a photographer we got someone who knew how weddings worked and all the little details that help make them flow effortlessly. Reading her blogs and listening to her general wedding advice before and on the day was very helpful. Rachel oozed a sense of calm whilst watching the time and keeping us all on track. My Husband told my during our wedding breakfast that Sarah (Rachel’s partner for the day) had been the same with him and even made his breakfast whilst he was busy getting ready! During the day Rachel helped with the little things such as putting my bouquet in water so it didn’t dry out (this hadn’t even crossed my mind) and helping me remove handfuls of confetti from my dress! We received our wedding photo preview just three days later whilst on our honeymoon, it was great to see so many photos so soon and then our full album a few weeks after that which we are delighted with!  Rachel is clearly passionate about wedding photography and this shows in her professionalism, we would highly recommend her!”
