I'm so excited to share this absolutely BEAUTIFUL Swan Inn Newby Bridge Lake District wedding with you on the blog. It's super stylish, colourful and fun.

Laura and Simon chose the gorgeous hotel for their wedding day - Laura works in the wedding industry in the Lake District. So after seeing lots of weddings she had some very clear ideas of what she wanted and what she didn't. First up choosing the venue! It's an amazing wedding venue if you're looking for something that little bit different. Every single room is beautifully decorated and light. Even the blooming hallway outside the honeymoon suite was so beautiful we had to do some portraits in it. I had serious wallpaper envy all day long!

I joined Laura, her sister and her bridesmaid in the morning in the amazing honeymoon suite for the final bits of bridal prep. We had a good ooooh-ahhhh at Laura's gorgeous bouquet, shoes and dress before we headed down to the ceremony room for the most important part of the day. Simon was getting a little nervous waiting for Laura to arrive but as soon as she made an appearance it was smiles and laughter all round.

The Lake District weather was kind to us so the guests were able to enjoy the beautiful lakeside lawn area during the drinks reception. Perfect.  I could pinched Laura and Simon away for some pictures without anyone noticing they were missing - it's really important to me that I get you some amazing shots without taking up too much of your day with pictures. . Cocktails and canapés and feeding the swans was on the cards for an hour whilst the newlyweds had a chance to chat with their guests.

Before long it was time to head into the venue for the speeches and wedding breakfast. I love the speeches part of the day. It's always a great opportunity for pictures - as there's usually an embarrassing story or two! And it's always lovely hearing some of the back story of how a couple came to be together. After the guests had enjoyed their meal, Laura and Simon had arranged another little treat -  something a bit speciall - a sunset cruise on the Lake. It was an absolutely perfect addition to the day and we enjoyed it just as much as the couple - and of course had to take advantage of the sunset on a boat for pictures!

Massive congratulations to Simon and Laura - you're day was absolutely beautiful and it was a pleasure to spend it with you. Huge thanks to the staff at The Swan Inn for looking after us. Thanks also to the lovely Gemma from Gemma McAuley Photography for being my second photographer on the day.

Here's a selection of my favourite images from the day. For more Lake District Weddings please visit the blog
