An Alternative Wedding at Stockport Town Hall
This was my first visit to Stockport Town Hall and what an amazing building it is. When you look through the images from this wedding you’ll just love all the details and nods to their shared love of music. It was after all music that brought Adam and Clare together in the first place. Fans of Morrissey and The Smiths, Clare and Adam had their first date at Morrissey’s 50th anniversary gig in Manchester. Six year’s later Adam took Clare back to where they first met and proposed.
These two made an amazing job of organising this wedding – without once stepping into a bridal shop! Most of their outfits, suppliers and decorations were found online. Keeping it simple and stress free was definitely and important part of the wedding planning.
I joined Clare and her bridesmaids at the hotel for bride prep and immediately fell in love with her beautiful mint green dress teamed with peacock shoes and an amazing textile bouquet (which weighed a tonne by the way!)
Then we headed off to the Town Hall to see the guests arrive. The wedding ceremony took place in the grand Council Chamber before the guests moved into the foyer, complete with amazing marble floor, for drinks and chats. We snook Clare and Adam off for a little while to take advantage of the architectural details inside and out of this lovely building before they and their guests sat down to afternoon tea in the ballroom.
Clare and Adam – amazing amazing day. Huge congratulations to you and your lovely families. Here’s a few of my favourite images from your day.
