This wedding was such a pleasure to photograph for so many reasons. Not least because Jon and Lauren are the nicest couple. Also because the details were so pretty and stylish and there was lots of my favourite things – vintage tea cups, pretty florals, bunting and fish and chips. Yes you know I’m a sucker for all things shabby chic. And fish and chips. I joined the girls at Lauren’s parent’s house in Southport for a morning of bride prep. I do love the nervous excitement of the morning preparations. Lauren looked amazing in her beaded Eliza Jane Howell gown teamed with Jenny Packham flats and a gorgeous veil. The bridemaids wore knee length mint dresses. All the girls carried beautiful bouquets from online floral company The Great British Florist.
We headed off to church where Jon was waiting nervously for his bride to arrive. He looked very dapper in his suit and his groomsmen did too. I love it when groom’s choose a non-traditional outfit.
Following the wedding ceremony the guests headed off the Rainford Village Hall where the team from Alice’s Vintage Pantry served a beautiful afternoon tea and guests danced the evening away. We were lucky enough to be able to pinch Jon and Lauren away for some beautiful portraits in the evening before we left them to dancing with their friends and family.
Village Hall weddings are my favourites – they give you such an opportunity to personalise the day and make it all about you as a couple. And Lauren and Jon had done just that – lots of handmade decor, their love of afternoon tea and literature and cake! Here are my favourite images from their day. Big thanks to Christian Thompson Photography for his assistance on the day and some beautiful shots.
