Lancashire Wedding Photographer at Samlesbury Hall
It was a lovely treat to find myself photographing another wedding at the beautiful Samlesbury Hall in June. Sophie and Jamie were such a lovely couple to spend the day with as were their guests and families. It was a more than a little emotional as Jamie's Dad passed away suddenly and unexpectedly just a few months before the day. But it was easy to see from the many tributes, and people's memories that he would have been the life and soul of the party and would have been just delighted to see Sophie and Jamie tie the knot.
Sophie and her bridesmaids got ready in the sweet little cottage in the grounds of Samlesbury Hall. It was lovely to spend the morning with the very talented Sam Gately hairdresser and Nala and Knot Make up Artists. The bridesmaids were in beautiful navy blue dresses and Sophie choose a blush pink dress. Her beautiful flowers set everything off perfectly. Stuart headed off to the boys at a local hotel to join them getting ready before heading over to Samlesbury.
The ceremony was super emotional as family members and friends came up to do their readings and after the ceremony we headed into the great hall for drinks, canapés and chats. One of the best things about Samlesbury is the masses of space inside and it came in handy that day!
It was definitely one of the wettest weddings of the year so far but Sophie and Jamie refused to let it ruin their day. Thankfully Samlesbury Hall is a perfect wedding venue for wet weddings - there's plenty of space for pictures inside as well as the beautiful grounds if you get chance to use them. Thank fully Sophie and Jamie took advantage of a break in the rain at the end of the day to have some pictures outside.
