Silverholme Manor Wedding – Lake District Wedding Photographer
Wow, wow and a little bit more wow. Emily and Michael tied the knot at the AMAZING Silverholme Manor in the Lake District yesterday and it was quite simply one of the loveliest, most enjoyable weddings I’ve ever been lucky enough to be a part of.
Emily and Michael first met in Windermere through mutual friends. When Emily dove into the Lake off a jetty, Michael declared “I’m going to marry her.” Fast forward 8 years, the couple have three adorable children and the time was right for Michael to make true his promise. The couple chose Silverholme Manor for the wedding and it was absolutely perfect. The huge house and surrounding cottages meant that the couple’s closest family and friends could all join them for the whole weekend. This meant the atmosphere was amazing – more like a big family holiday than a wedding! Children were running around playing, adults enjoying breakfast in the kitchen and hair and make up on the go in one of the many living rooms.
Lots of space to get ready for the wedding at Silverholme Manor…
Incredibly, just a week after the latest snow storms, the day was absolutely beautiful. Definitely the first day of spring! All the guests were able to sit outside and enjoy the views. If you’re getting married in the Lake District then beautiful views are probably something you’re interested in! You should definitely check out Silverholme Manor then – you don’t get a much better setting.
I love that there’s a choice of different places to tie the knot at Silverholme. Emily and Michael had such an intimate group of friends and family that they were able to make use of one of the beautiful sitting rooms at Silverholme Manor. There was such a relaxed feel to it – with guests sat of sofas and mismatched chairs.
After the lovely wedding ceremony the guests heading outside for drinks before heading over to the coach house for afternoon tea and dancing. Emily had done the most amazing job decorating the coach house – the tables were full of beautiful flowers, handmade name tags, personalised seed packets, vintage cups and saucers and handmade napkins courtesy of Emily’s very talented Mum!
The holiday vibe contributed throughout the day and after the afternoon tea the guests all wandered off to enjoy the house and relax – some headed off for a walk to the lake, others enjoyed a drink in the sun and couple of people headed off for a little snooze – I think all weddings should have a designated afternoon nap time!
With all the kids finally exhausted from running around the beautiful gardens at Silverholme Manor, and tucked up in bed, the adults reconvened in Silverholme’s dining room for the evening meal. The caterers providing some amazing food, the wine was flowing and the speeches commenced – and they were hilarious!
Just when I thought this wedding could not get any better Emily and Michael surprised their guests with a Pulp Fiction inspired first dance!
Huge mahoosive congratulations to Emily and Michael – what an absolute triumph of a day! Thank you for making us so welcome – we felt like part of the family for the day. Massive thanks to the lovely people at Rowley and Campbell catering for looking after us with delicious canapés, roast beef and the best gravy ever and Amy from Amy Louise Photography who was my amazing right hand woman on the day.
