The very first Shoot & Hustle workshop took place this week at the awesome Holmes Mill wedding venue in Clitheroe. We were really excited about shooting at this great venue – there’s nothing much else like it in the area and we know our attendees loved it too!
I can’t quite believe how quickly the day sped past – true, we had been very ambitious in the amount we wanted to cover but nevertheless it felt like we didn’t take a breath between kicking off at 10 a.m and heading downstairs for drinks and chats at 5 p.m.
Working with the very talented duo Katie and James from Fairclough Photography and the awesome Hannah from Hannah Darnford-May Photography we covered everything from improving your documentary photography, marketing, branding and SEO, using flash creatively, posing when you hate to pose, learning to self-critique and of course game-changing tips and tricks.
Huge thank you to the 22 people who attended the workshop – we had such a mixed bag of photographers. Some people who were just starting out on their photography journey and others who have been in the business for a while but needed a kick up the creative backside. It’s been amazing to receive some great feedback from the day.
“Between the four of you you have made some amazing content for a workshop, all of your personalities came across really really well, I think that the day itself was insanely useful and I’m now ready to get my arse into gear for the winter months. Cannot thank you all enough for all the info, feel like my heads going to explode with ideas and information and tips and posing, cannot wait to get putting it all to the test!!!” Alix from Alix Fergusson Photography
“It was great to see how three varied businesses worked, and the fact that you all had such different personalities proves there is no one set model to success, and also that I don’t have to change my personality to fit into expectations of what a wedding photographer is – in fact, being more open about my awkwardness/embracing it is kind of your unique selling point! Great layout to the day, lovely venue, great lunch! And thank you for your help so far in the Facebook group – it was a pleasure to feel as though you were all genuinely interested in helping us progress…” Louise from Louise Anna Photography
