I’ve got such a lovely Lancashire wedding to share with you today. Would you believe Jen and Tim managed to arrange the whole day in a little over 6 months? After getting engaged in August last year the couple decided they definitely did not want a long engagement and set the date for March 2016. Despite looking at a number of venues, in the end there was only really one choice, the gorgeous Samlesbury Hall in Lancashire. And not just because it’s a pretty fabulous place to celebrate your wedding in, but because Jen’s ancestors actually called it home 300 years ago! How’s that for a family connection. Jen and her bridesmaids spent the night before the wedding in the Lodge, in the grounds of Samlesbury and I joined them early in the morning for bride prep. The day started off with a surprise heavy snow storm meaning there was much worry about guests arriving and getting to the church! Jen took it all in her stride.
Jen wore a gorgeous fitted gown designed by Jasmine Bridal from Bride to Be in Prestwich and during the day teamed it with a lace top. The dress was set off with an amazing cathedral length gown and a diamante belt as well as beautiful necklace and bracelet which Tim sent over as a gift on the morning of the wedding. The bridesmaids looked amazing in short, pale gold dresses from Chi Chi London and the boys were not to be outdone in three piece suits from Next.
Jen and Tim had chosen a blue, blush and gold colour scheme throughout. Despite having such little time to organise the wedding, they managed to create most of the centre pieces and decoration themselves with help from friends and family of course. A talented friend and stationary designer created all the wedding stationary to fit in the with the couple’s colour scheme. The beautiful cake was also in shades of blush and metallic gold too.
Thankfully by the time we needed to head off to church the snow had subsided and we made it on time! A lovely ceremony followed, with readings from friends and family and then we headed back to Samlesbury for the reception.
Massive congratulations to Jen and Tim. It was such a pleasure to be a part of your day. Here’s a selection of my favourite images from the day.
Credits to the team who helped make it all happen and a big thank you to Gemma of Gemma Macauley Photography who was my second photographer on the day. For more weddings at Samlesbury Hall please visit the blog.
