This beautiful wedding took place in Manchester at the ever lovely Great John Street Hotel. Dan and Michaela’s love story is extra special so I’m going to let them tell it Michaela tell it in her own words…
“We met through friends whilst we were both still at school (nearly 15 years ago) although we knew of each other long before then. We both had a secret ‘crush’ on one another but never admitted it at first. We can’t actually remember how we first got together or even our first date!
Danny proposed whilst on holiday in Dubai in July 2016. He had secretly arranged for us to visit the Burj al Arab hotel for afternoon tea. This was a 7 course afternoon tea overlooking the Dubai skyline. It was beautiful and somewhere I had always wanted to visit. Towards the end, the Maître d’ approached our table with a glass dome filled with smoke and rose petals. Once the smoke had disappeared, I saw the box with the beautiful engagement ring. Danny was so nervous and I was already in tears! All of the guests applauded when they realised what had just happened. It was a fantastic day and one we will always remember.”
Michaela and Dan wanted a very relaxed and low key affair. Initially planning to get married abroad, events conspired to bring them to Great John Street Hotel with one date available – Michaela’s 30th birthday! The date fit in perfectly with their plans for a chilled out, dinner party vibe and so with a small selection of friends and family in attendance the couple tied the knot.
Michaela looked amazing in her two piece dress and Danny was equally dapper in his Ted Bake suit. After a lovely ceremony in the Headmaster’s Office of Great John Street Hotel, we headed out into the streets for some cracking portraits of this lovely pair.
Danny and Michaela – huge congratulations on your big day. Here’s a selection of my faves from your wedding.
