The Lowry Centre - wedding photographer in manchester
Do you want to see a wedding with gold converse, a £40 wedding dress and some beautiful architecture? Of course you flipping do. I was really excited when Iain and Krista contacted me about their Lowry Centre wedding. I'm a country girl at heart but the occasional city centre wedding gets me excited! There was definitely not a field to be seen - although I did find some trees!
Krista tells their love story.....
"We met in early 2015 at a Christian conference where we were both serving on a media team. We didn't talk much at the conference but I made Iain a cold cup of tea (not my finest hour) and Iain drank it without complaining. This was enough to form a lasting impression on both of us. The next week Iain found me on Facebook, after messaging each other for three days straight we found that we got on like a house on fire. Iain, coincidentally had a meeting in Manchester that week so asked if we would like to meet up for dinner. Living 169 miles apart made for an interesting relationship journey but we both knew from the beginning that we were serious and wanted to honour God with our relationship.
We got engaged in January 2016. Iain took me to Wheatley windmill, a running theme through our relationship, and had pre-arranged to have a look around but kept it as a surprise (I was suspicious). They pretended not to know who we were and that they would just let us have a look around as a one off. Iain then ‘found’ the ring on a mill stone and proposed. Of course I said yes!"
The windmills popped up throughout the rest of the wedding too - spot them in the pinwheels on the table, the table decoration and the AMAZING cake made by Krista's Mum (yes the arms of the windmill did actually move).
Krista's beautiful dress fitted her like a glove - you would have thought she'd spent thousands on it. Nope. £40. Charity shop. No I couldn't believe it either. She looked amazing. The bridesmaids were sporting a fabulous red and yellow combo - not only perfect autumn wedding colours but also a nod to Gryffindor. That makes me a happy wedding photographer/Harry Potter obsessive.
