An alternative wedding at Constellations Liverpool

Prepare to fall hard for this amazing alternative wedding day and the lovely couple – Alex and Ferg who put it all together! When they got in touch about their wedding day I knew it would be a cracker and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. They are the NICEST people to spend the day with and they’d chosen a couple of amazing city centre venues in Liverpool, some beautiful details and personal touches and then brought together all their favourite people to spend the day with them.

I headed to the couple’s house on the morning of the wedding to meet up with Alex who was getting ready with here bridesmaids. It was a really chilled morning as all the girls were doing their own hair and make up. Alex’s very clever mum had handmade the bridesmaid’s dresses which perfectly complimented the bride’s tea length, pale green, lace wedding dress.

We were soon heading into Liverpool city centre for the wedding ceremony which was taking place at the very stylish Hope Street Hotel.  It was my first visit to Hope Street Hotel and what an amazing venue for a city centre wedding ceremony. The views are spectacular and provided an amazing backdrop to the pictures. The ceremony room itself is full of natural light which make such a difference to the wedding pictures. One of my favourite images of the day is a silhouette of the newlyweds with the famous Liver Building in the background.

Alex and Ferg had really thought about the timeline for the day and made sure there was time put aside at Hope Street Hotel so that the newlyweds had chance to enjoy some drinks, nibbles and chats with the close friends and family who had attended the wedding ceremony. After a little while we snuck the newlyweds away for some portraits. Alex and Ferg had their first date at a cafe just around the corner from Hope Street Hotel so we had to stop there to take a few pictures!

This wedding was a story of two halves. The small and stylish wedding ceremony at Hope Street Hotel was just the first part of the day. It was soon time for guests to head over to the reception venue where even more guests were arriving to join the couple for their wedding breakfast (and they actually did serve a cooked breakfast – it was amazing!)  The very cool and alternative Constellationswas the location for the second half of the day. Again, it was my first visit to this venue and I loved it’s quirkiness. It complete contrast the light and airy room at Hope Street Hotel, the reception room in Constellations had more of a nightclub vibe which suited the party atmosphere perfectly! Constellations sits smack bang in the middle of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle and it’s an absolute treat for creative photographers – graffiti, dirty brick walls and urban backdrops – so of course we had to head out for more pictures there too!

Alex and Ferg’s wedding at Hope Street Hotel and Constellations was definitely one of my favourites of 2018. As a wedding photographer I absolutely love heading to Liverpool and hope to be back soon!
