Another beautiful Lake District wedding on the blog today! Amy and Dale chose the very lovely Inn on the Lake for their big day. Amy’s family had spent some time living in the Lake District when she was younger so it wasn’t a very difficult choice for the couple to choose to return to the area for their big day.
In true Lake District style the weather was, shall we say, temperamental! The bridal suite offered views of the mist and rain over the hills. The roads were flooding and the journey to the church was looking treacherous! I headed up to the bridal suite to meet up with Amy and her troop of gorgeous ladies – mums, bridesmaids and flower girls. It was the usual wedding day craziness!
My second shooter Karl headed off to Dale and his groomsmen just down the hall.
The weather was still not playing ball as we headed off to the lovely little country church but that didn’t put a damper of things one bit. Dale waited anxiously for his bride to arrive surrounded by their family and friends who had travelled the length of the country to be there. After the ceremony everyone jumped back on the bus and headed back to the Inn on the Lake where miraculously (and it typical Lake District style) the sun eventually broke through the clouds and gave the guests the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the hotel.
We pinched Amy and Dale away from the guests for a short time for some pictures in the gardens – with a backdrop like that you’ve got to make the most of it!
Huge congratulations to Dale and Amy on their big day. We loved spending it with you and your family and friends – there was so much laughter and dance floor moves and happiness! Here’s a selection of some of my favourites from the day. Big thanks to Karl from Karl Chester Photography for his help on the day.
