Hooray for Wedding Planning!

So excited! Thank you for choosing me to be a part of your big day. It gives me the warm and fuzzies whenever a couple puts their trust in me to capture their memories. You’ve got quite a journey ahead of you to plan that big day and I’m with you every step of the way if you need me.

This page is a special secret place on the website only for people who’ve already booked me for their wedding. Bookmark it and keep it handy throughout your wedding planning and if you need any extra help at any time just get in touch!

So you’ve booked your wedding photography (good choice by the way!) That’s one big tick off the list. For the next few months you can crack on with the other to-dos. But when do you need to speak to me again? Here’s a little timeline…

3 months before the big day –

If you haven’t already booked a pre-wed shoot and you think you’d like one now if definitely the time to get in touch. Most weekends I’m shooting weddings so pre-wed shoots usually need to take place on midweek days or evenings. We can have a chat about what’s best deciding on the time of year. Not sure whether a pre-wed shoot is for you? Check out my wedding planning blog below – there’s some information in there.

6 weeks before the big day –

I’ll be in touch at this point to finalise all the final details of your wedding. If we haven’t met in person yet we’ll try and arrange to do this at this point. I’ll send you a pre-wedding questionnaire to complete. This gives me all the information I need for the day.

1 month before the big day –

This might be the most expensive month of your life! Like lots of wedding suppliers, the final balance of your wedding photography is due at this point. I’ll be in touch with details of how to pay. If you’d like to pay earlier please just let me know.

1-2 weeks before the wedding day –

When you’ve sent back your pre-wedding questionnaire I’ll be in touch to confirm timings with you. About a week before the wedding I’ll check in one last time just to confirm and to hopefully calm those last minute nerves.

Here are a few questions that pop up quite frequently…

How will we receive our images?

Within a couple of days of your wedding I’ll add a blog post to my website with a few sneak peeks of your big day. This is super for sharing with your friends and family. If for any reason you don’t want a blog post please let me know.

Just before you receive your final gallery I’ll send you over a highlight slideshow with a larger selection of images.

Your full gallery of images will be ready 6-8 weeks after the wedding itself. I’ll send you over the link and you’ll be able to download the images straight from the gallery.

Will all the images be edited?

Yep! Every single image is carefully selected and edited to my own secret recipe!

Do we need to feed you on the day?

I love food and weddings are a loooong day so a meal is always very gratefully received. Venues will often cater for suppliers automatically so please check with them first. I absolutely do not expect my couples to provide me with a meal and certainly don’t wish to add to your expenses. We just like to know in advance so we can pack the lunch boxes if necessary!

Do you do a venue visit?

I don’t need to visit new venues as a general rule. Having shot a LOT of weddings, I can handle any venue or  lighting situation and I always have my full range of equipment with me at any wedding. If possible I’ll arrive early on the day to have a quick look around before joining you.
