Helena and Dan’s Marquee Wedding – North Wales Wedding Photographer
Helena and Dan’s wedding day was pure perfection! I’m so pleased to be able to share it with you now. Whenever I get an enquiry for a DIY/back garden/ totally relaxed wedding day – I’m already sold! They are my absolute fave! So when Helena and Dan got in touch about their wedding plans in North Wales (one of my favourite places in the world!) I wanted to hear all about it!
The couple met at university whilst training to be design and technology teachers. They’re both very creative and happily they had the perfect place to unleash all that creativity for the wedding. Helena’s parents kindly offered their own back garden for the party. And what a spot! Months of hard work from all the family went into finishing the garden and making it picture perfect for the day. A huge marquee was erected and filled to the brim with flowers and colour and gorgeous decor and all the lovely handmade bits and bobs that Helena and Dan had been working so hard on. The couple even changed the original date of the wedding to make sure the flowers in the garden would be blooming on the day!
I headed to North Wales the evening before the wedding to make sure I was on hand and fresh as daisy for the wedding. The morning dawned a bit grim and grey and drizzly but we all kept our fingers crossed that the weather would play ball! Thankfully the weather gods smiled upon up and as the couple arrived back from their church ceremony, the sun came out and it was glorious for the rest of the day. Guests lounged on the lawn, played games, said hello to the chickens and enjoyed the surroundings before heading into the marquee for a gorgeous afternoon tea.
Helena and Dan were keen to visit nearby Bodnant Gardens for their wedding portraits. It’s a glorious place where they spend a lot of time together so it was a pretty special spot to them. We snook away from the wedding for an hour to explore the garden and get some cracking portraits of the two of them.
The fun didn’t end there – the couple had put so much thought into the day and keeping their guests entertained. It was soon time for the Ceilidh – which I LOVE and the arrival of the fish and chip van (delicious by the way!) and the waffle station. The sun was still shining and it was just the most glorious day!
Thank you so much Helena and Dan for inviting me to capture your day. It was PERFECT and a testament to all the hard work you all put into the planning. Here’s a few of my fave pictures from your day. (It was very hard to narrow it down )
With thanks to Karl from Karl Chester Photography for being my second photographer on the day.
