A Stylish Winter Wedding at Great John Street Hotel
A fabulous Manchester City Centre wedding at Great John Street Hotel marked the end of an amazing and busy year of photographing weddings for me. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to have finished with. When I walked into Louise and Anthony’s beautiful home on the morning of the wedding I knew they were the perfect couple to spend the day with and that it was going to be a lot of fun. We were amazingly lucky to have a day of perfect winter wedding – cool, crisp and beautiful blue skies. All the more surprising considering how much rain we had seen over the previous week.
I joined Louise, the bridesmaids and the beautiful baby Evie for bride prep in the morning. There was much laughter, beautiful light, sleepy babies and champagne. Louise got a bit emotional when she opened her gift from Anthony – a surprise trip to see the Northern Lights! Who wouldn’t get teary at that. What a romantic.
After spending some time lusting over Louise’s interior design choices I got busy photographing the details – a gorgeous winter bouquet, a pair of fabulous Jimmy Choos and that UH-MAZING dress.
We headed off to the ceremony where Louise set eyes upon her groom for the first time and after a lovely ceremony we all headed off into Manchester city centre to Great John Street Hotel. What a perfect city centre wedding venue – cool and chic, big enough for all the guests but just the right size to feel intimate.
As much as I love a rural, country wedding I get quite excited when a city centre affair is thrown into the mix every now and again. Louise and Anthony have a lot of love for Manchester and it’s gorgeous architecture and they perfectly understood my excitement about shutters (did someone say perfect couple?) so we snook them off just as the light started to fade to grab some images.
Massive thanks to Louise and Anthony for inviting me to be a part of their day. It was an absolute pleasure. It was cracking to see the talented Mr Sam Fitton magician again, to meet the boys from James Wray Wedding films and to work with Rich from One Fine Day Photography who came along to give me a hand.
Here are my favourite images from the day. For more wedding photography in Manchester please visit my blog.
