The Ribble Valley is one of my favourite places in the whole world so when Emma and Kieron got in touch and told me about their plans for an informal and relaxed wedding at a gorgeous new venue I kept my fingers and toes crossed that they would book me as their wedding photographer. The Out Barn wedding venue at Clough Bottom might just be my new favourite spot for a wedding – a purpose built venue with a gorgeous bright reception space and a glorious backdrop. There’s even a lovely little cottage for the bride to get ready in on the morning of the wedding. Emma and Kieron now live down south but had chosen to come back up North to celebrate their wedding. Good choice.
In keeping with their laid back, relaxed theme, the couple had made an amazing job of decorating the venue with a lovely eclectic floral mix in jars and vases and tubs. Would you believe they got it all from the flower markets and travelled up with the day before the wedding? With the help of Kieron’s mum, Emma also made the bouquets and they looked amazing.
I joined the girls in the cottage for preparations and it was great to see the talented Bridal Hair by Sam Gately again. The ceremony took place in the beautiful St Helen’s church in Waddington before all the guests arrived at the Out Barn for nibbles and drinks including chips and gravy canapes – yes! The weather was glorious, the guests mingled outside and the beautiful Pendle Hill provided the backdrop for photographs.
Later in the day after a delicious meal, when the sun was on the verge of setting we snuck away with Emma and Kieron for some more portraits in the grounds of the Out Barn. I got over excited about the light and finding a huge pile of logs and thankfully this lovely couple just went with it!
Congratulations Emma and Kieron and thank you for choosing me as your photographer. Big thanks to Christian of Christian Thompson Photography for assisting me on the day.
