Browsholme Hall Wedding

Wow! This gorgeous wedding at Browsholme Hall is going to knock your sock off. Such a beautiful venue and so much pretty! I’m lusting after Catriona’s red shoes.

This lovely story began way back at high school when the couple first met. Fast forward a few years and the couple headed off to Amsterdam for a romantic weekend. Alex managed to hide his stress of proposing with his stress of travelling! He didn’t make Catriona wait long for the proposal though – he popped the question the very first night in their hotel and the couple celebrated with pizza and cheap champagne! It might not have been very rock and roll but it was very romantic.

Wedding Planning

“Alex had hoped I would have a big folder of all my wedding hopes and dreams that I’d been compiling since I was a little girl but unfortunately for him that wasn’t the case so he’s been very involved in the planning. He’s convinced he is the most involved groom in the whole world.”

The couple had already visited a few different venues when they came across Browsholme Hall and they knew it was the one for them immediately. Planning a relaxed but elegant day – the venue was the perfect choice. The amazing grounds and historic buildings definitely give the elegance but the relaxed layout of long tables in the barn was perfect for the wedding breakfast.

They loved…

Food tasting! That was Alex’s favourite part of the wedding planning. Not surprising given the amazing caterers the couple chose. Choosing the flowers was also a big hit – Jane from Flower Design swept them up with her enthusiasm for floral and the result was spectacular! Going bespoke – after much dress shopping Catriona chose to go bespoke with a gorgeous dress from the Couture Company.

I loved…

So much to love about this wedding. Alex and Catriona’s friends and family made us so welcome on the day. I’m completely besotted with Jane from Flower Designs. She’s got such an amazing eye for colour and detail. I love how she tempted Catriona away from her initial plans to go all white on the flowers. The end result included reds and oranges too and was just perfect. The sun was shining, the guest enjoyed drinks in the courtyard and we got to spend lots of time exploring the grounds and we were treated to the most beautiful sunset. It doesn’t really get much better than that!

Huge congratulations to Alex and Catriona – thank you for choosing me to capture your day. Here’s a selection of some of my favourite images. Thanks to Matt from Matt Sim Photography for assisting me and the staff at Browsholme Hall for looking after us.
