mitton hall wedding - photography in lancashire
Mitton Hall in Lancashire was the scene of Abby and Tom's lovely summer wedding. I've been lucky enough to photograph a few weddings at Mitton Hall and I never bore of it - it's such an amazing venue. This august day the sun was shining, the grounds look amazing and everyone was in high spirits.
Abby and Tom first met each other at a house party in Liverpool where they were both attending university. It was pretty much love at first site and the couple have been inseparable since. After just three years together Tom popped the question, Abby of course said yes and the couple decided it was time to start wedding planning. Although they no longer live in the area, Lancashire was set as the wedding location and before long Mitton Hall was chosen as the venue. The couple were totally smitten with Mitton (did you see what I did there) because of the lovely mix of old and new - the light and bright ceremony and reception room and all the amazing period details in the old part of the building.
The day started much earlier than usual because the couples ceremony was taking place in the late morning . So I joined Abby, her mum and bridesmaids at Mitton where hair and makeup was already full swing. Tom arrived soon after to get ready and my second photographer Kathryn was ready to capture that.
Before long it was time to head downstairs to the orangery for the wedding ceremony. Abby's family dog stole the show with his dramatic escape mid ceremony and bid for freedom! I love dogs and weddings!
The sun stayed shining and all the guests were able to head out to the beautiful gardens at Mitton to enjoy drinks and canapés whilst we snook away with Abby and Tom for some portraits in the grounds.
