A Styal Lodge Wedding

Same Sex wedding cheshire

Emma and Alex chose the very lovely Styal Lodge for their wedding day. They had a vision of a venue that was light, elegant, had a bit of a wow-factor and provided the perfect backdrop for their romantic, pastel coloured styling. And Styal Lodge ticked every box!

Romantic is definitely a word I’d use to describe these two. When we first met on their engagement shoot, I knew that Alex was a little nervous about being in front of the camera. But it didn’t take long for them to relax with one another and it was easy to see how completely in love they are! And hearing Emma tell their engagement story just highlights that…

“Alex proposed to me three years after we met.  I had to work late and I arrived home to candles on the driveway and all around the house. There was little footsteps on the floor with notes on about important events, guiding me to where the ring was. Alex had even put the ring in the Pokeman ball because I’m a huge Pokeman geek.”

I spent the morning with Emma at her parent’s home surrounded by her bridesmaids, Mum and Dad and her lovely dogs. ( Yes I get distracted by dogs at weddings!) and my second photographer Matt, headed to the couples home to spend the morning with Alex and her family. Emma had arranged a beautiful present for Alex – a locket containing the images of Alex’s Dad who sadly passed away a little while ago. There was tears! (Even from me when I was editing the wedding!)

The romance, the laughter and the tears continued throughout the day! The lovely ceremony took place at Styal Lodge, where the couple were surrounded with their friends and family as they tied the knot. We even managed some shots in the grounds before the heavens opened!

It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with these two and I’m so pleased to be able to share a few of my favourite images here with you now.
