A Relaxed Wedding at Hope Mill Theatre Manchester

Well this absolute cracker of a wedding has shot it’s way into my list of all time favourites. I love photographing weddings in Manchester City Centre but this was my first visit to the awesome space that is Hope Mill Theatre. If you’re on the hunt for a quirky and alternative wedding venue in the North West you’ve got to check out this venue. An old cotton factory that’s been turned into a creative theatre space.

When Ruth and Steve first got in touch about their wedding plans I was immediately excited. Their plan was for a really cool and relaxed wedding day. No bridal prep, no formalities and no fuss! The plan was to meet the couple at the venue before the ceremony for a first look and to get their portraits and group shots done and dusted before the wedding ceremony. This meant they could go straight into the party after the ceremony was over!

Ruth rocked up looking AMAZING in a bespoke gold sequin dress and a cracking pair of shoes and Steve was quite understandably blown away when he saw her for the first time.  We headed off to grab some portraits around Hope Mill Theatre – I’m a bit of a sucker for peeling paint and grungy backgrounds so I was in my element!

Steve and Ruth tied the knot in front of their friends and family inside the theatre before everyone headed into the bar for chats. Guests were then treated to an awesome meal of pie and mash (which was scrummy) which was then followed by the most glorious dessert table I’ve ever seen (and the best Manchester Tart I’ve ever eaten!)

A spot of guest karaoke got the party swinging in the evening and before I headed off I managed to sneak Ruth and Steve away for a couple more evening portraits.

What an absolutely cracking day. I love Hope Mill Theatre and this was the perfect wedding day. Here are some of my favourite images from the day.
