Nicola and Michael’s big day is coming up fast and I’m really looking forward to spending the day with them. They’ve chosen the beautiful Samlesbury Hall for the ceremony before heading off to Northcote for a very delicious meal in the evening. They’re planning a very chilled and relaxed wedding day surrounded by an intimate group of family and friends.
But Haworth Art Gallery was a special spot for the couple and was high up on the potential wedding venue list so it wasn’t a difficult choice for their engagement shoots. Nicola is from the area originally and has lots of fond memories of the beautiful park. It was also high on the list as a wedding venue too – only just pipped to the post by Samlesbury Hall.
Engagement or pre-wed shoots are a really great way for me to get to know a couple before the big day. They aren’t scary or long and posey – most of the time we’re walking around having a little chat about wedding plans and stopping off for pictures at particularly lovely spots. Which is exactly what we did on this lovely summer evening with Nicola and Michael. A stroll around the lovely spots around the park and the occasional stop off for some pictures.
Michael and Nicola were super relaxed and happy in front of the camera so they made my job very easy. My aim for your portraits is to deliver a set of really relaxed images – you’ll look at them and think “that’s us!’ There was no problem achieving this with Michael and Nicola – they really got into the session and allowed me to capture some beautiful images.
Nicola and Michael’s big day is now on the blog!! You can see it here.
