A Colourful Spring Wedding at The Lingholm Estate Keswick
Outdoor enthusiasts Sarah and Marden have spent A LOT of time exploring the Lake District, as children and now as a couple. So even though the couple now live down South, the Lakes was the natural choice when they were looking for their perfect wedding venue. The couple were looking for an exclusive, laid back venue, where their friends and family could stay and the very beautiful Lingholm Estate ticked all those boxes and then some! Overlooking Derwentwater, the estate has been part of the Keswick scenery since 1800. Fun geeky fact – the house was built by Alfred Waterhouse who was also responsible for the amazingly gothic Manchester Town Hall, another of my favourite North West wedding venues. The Hall now hosts a limited number of weddings every year and I was lucky enough to join Sarah and Marden for their beautiful day there.
The couple were both getting ready in the on site accommodate at Lingholm which meant it was just a short walk downstairs to the ceremony room where , surrounded by their friends and family, Sarah and Marden tied the knot. Straight after the ceremony a special guest arrived – Alba, the couples beautiful doggo and she sort of stole the show for a while!
Drinks in the sunshine, overlooking the lake. Followed by pictures in the groups (too many places to choose from!) and then the guests went in for their meal. Instead of a sit-down dessert everyone enjoyed the pudding table with treats and cakes made by Sarah’s super talented Mum who was also responsible for the incredible cake. I’m still dreaming of those Malteaser brownies – heaven!
There was so much to love about this wedding – the setting, the lovely guests, my gorgeous couple, that lovely doggo, that BOUQUET! What a treat to be involved in this day. Thank you so much Sarah and Marden for inviting me along to capture it all for you.
