Wedding Photography in Lancashire Manchester Cheshire and the Lake District - 2016 review (63).jpg

Can 2016 really be over? But it went so fast.  It feels like yesterday that I was sitting down to put together my Best of 2015 post. Well here we are again. Another year done and if it all possible it was even better than the year before.

It went a little something like this: tens of thousands of images taken, 44 weddings, a few squishy newborns, hundreds of enquiries, lots of new wedding industry friends and one shiny award. Phew!

On a personal level this is the first year I've felt 'established' - I've realised what I am and what I'm not and I'm completely comfortable with that. I feel like I know my shit (most of the time).

Big thanks to the photographers who've worked with me this year to help my deliver the best images possible to my couples: Stuart, my ever reliable right hand man; second shooter extraordinaire, carrier of bags, holder of lights, fluffer of dresses, provider of often needed post 3 p.m. banter but mostly loyal and continuing believer in all things Rachel Joyce Photography related and good friend. And his lovely wife Nicola who continues to let me pinch him on an almost weekly basis. Thanks also to those photographers who stand in when Stuart isn't available - Kathryn from Delicious Photography, Gemma from Gemma McAuley Photography, Lauren Jo of LJK Photography, Emma from Emma B Photography, Catherine from Eyecapture Photography and Jack Valentine of Project Valentine Photography.

As always the biggest thanks goes to my couples - you put your trust in me from the moment you book me. You let me into your world of wedding planning, you share your stories with me, you let me spend your biggest day with you, you become my champion and often you become my friends. I love you all and I feel eternally lucky that I get to play a role in preserving your memories.

Here's to a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017 - we're going to smash it!
